The Hard Way

The Brief
A revenge actioner set across New York and Bucharest, built around a former operative hunting down his brother’s killers. The costumes needed to serve a cast of soldiers, operatives, and criminals, keeping everything credible and physically convincing while clearly mapping out who belongs to which world.
The Execution
Payne’s wardrobe was rooted in the quietly capable aesthetic of someone who never really left the job: functional, understated, nothing that draws attention but everything that means business. His allies were dressed along similar lines, with subtle distinctions in fit and wear reflecting rank and history. The criminal side was given more edge and texture, a rougher, more territorial look that contrasts with the discipline of the men closing in on them. Filmed in Romania, the locations did a lot of the atmospheric heavy lifting, and the costumes were kept grounded to match.
